Kit Kat Chunky - Honeycomb and Cookie Dough.
Let’s talk about Kit Kat Chunky for a moment.
I was just as excited as the next guy when they first came out. All the chocolatey, wafery goodness of Kit Kat at four times the size? Fuck yes!
But the Kit Kat Chunky was too successful. The junk food and drink world is a constant Darwinian struggle, and it seems the Kit Kat Chunky has won out against its lesser cousin, the regular Kit Kat. I can’t remember the last time I saw a normal, four-finger Kit Kat, much less ate one. I think you can still get them in the “Fun Size”, but eating one of those is about as enjoyable as dancing with your sister.
I think the demise of the regular Kit Kat is best summed up by the disappearance of the “Chunky” epithet. As you’ll see below, the big boi of the Kit Kat world is now just called “Kit Kat”, which would seem to point to its final victory.

There are actually three new flavours, but the Safeway I went to didn’t have the mint one. That’s okay, I’m kinda sick of mint. It’s like that’s the default flavour choice that chocolate companies go for when they wanna walk on the wild side.
It’s a bit strange that they would release a sudden flood of new flavours at once. I would’ve thought it’d be safer to just do one at a time, to focus attention on that one product. These trial flavours never last for long, so it seems wiser to just have one out at a time, considering that consumers are buying less luxuries these days due to fuel prices and stuff.
But hey- I’m not complaining. It’s just more blog fodder for me!
Kit Kat Honeycomb

Hey, they even come with the ingredients listed so I don’t have to type it up. How’s that for convenience?
The Kit Kat Honeycomb is pretty nice. The fact that it’s “shattered honeycomb” makes the taste not so overpowering as it might be if it were a solid hunk of honeycomb like in a Violet Crumble or something. I rate it three and a half out of four Kit Kat fingers.
Kit Kat Cookie Dough

Of all the new flavours, this one should have been the stand-out. It should have been like Michael Jackson to Jermaine, Tito, and the rest (yes, I can name all the Jackson brothers and sisters, but I want to make it appear that I’m all devil-may-care).
Unfortunately, it just doesn’t live up to the awesomeness that the words ‘cookie’ and ’dough’ are usually synonymous with. The cookie dough flavour kind of gets lost amongst the caramel and chocolate. I don’t know why they even included the caramel. What, Nestle, cookie dough isn’t enough of a flavour by itself? Has to have its hand held by caramel? Huh? Cookie dough is a taste sensation, okay, and you have to respect that. One finger out of four.

Damn! With all the candy reviews I’m surprised you don’t weigh over 800 Kilos. LOL!
Keep up coming. ; )
Hey, man, I’m a student. I live on the holy caffeine trinity: coffee, cola, and chocolate. Peanut M&Ms are like a three course meal.
hey mate, thank u 4 introducing the new products of kitkat ”chunky”.
as I genuinely have a craving 4 Kitkat notabely ” chunky caramel ” which I consider it the best chocolate I have ever tasted so far.
After I had read ur opinions, I insisted to try both products at the same time
Kitkat ” honeycomb” is really impressive and fabuolus whereas Kit Kat Cookie Dough is not that much since the taste is rather cofusing
However, still Kitkat Caramel is the best of all of them with a rate of 5 stars then comes Kit kat peanut butter in the second place in conjunction with the regular one with a rate of 4 and finally the honeycomb with 3.5
No worries Raul. Happy to be of assistance!
I never really got into the Caramel one, but the Peanut Butter was awesome.
I’ve still gotta try the Mint, but I’m not expecting anything spectacular there.

Tute On Daniel!
I must remark that Cookie-Dough flavoured anything is never that good, in my humble experience. After much exploration of things doughie and cookie, I have concluded that cookie dough “flavour” sucks because it isn’t cookie dough. It’s like trying to have Coke flavoured Fanta, it’s perfunctory and just plain ol’ shid. Just a musing. Please to agree or dis. I am interested in the thoughts of a Glycomaniac.

Can’t say that I have heaps of experience with cookie dough’s various flavour manifestations, but your hypothesis is probably correct. I used to get Baskin Robbins’s’s’s cookie dough flavour whenever I went there, but it really isn’t very good.
Nothing beats just tucking in to a good ol’ log-o’-dough.
um yeah, im not planning to blog everyday. Just all the nights that i’m in melbourne. So roughly 4 or 5 times a week. Lets see how i go. i always was crap at keeping a diary…
kitkats are in my dreams it suddenly seems, had the mint one, they only had kingsize so i ended up vomiting the rest of it down the toilet, but believe me when i say they rock the sox, so much so that straight after my vomit expirience i went out and bought another (you know, to make up for lost kitkat) do try the mint
Man, I would just like to get a hold of these bars in the US. I can’t find any wholesalers or distributors on line to get these over to the US so I can sell them at my store. Does anyone know how & where to get boxes of these? I can’t even find them to buy just one to try out. Please help if you can.
thanks,
Nick
Well Nick there’s an auction on eBay right now if you want to get your hands on a couple! http://cgi.ebay.com/Aussie-Release-COOKIE-DOUGH-2-Chunky-bars_W0QQitemZ160025367524QQihZ006QQcategoryZ38174QQcmdZViewItem
Oh and as for the Cookie Dough having caramel I think you got a dud one there. I had one last night and not a sign of caramel to be had. Just a thick layer of Cookie Dough goodness on top of crisp wafer and coated in thick chocolate. Must dash to the shops now…
No, uh, the caramel is supposed to be there. It says so on the wrapper, of which there is a photo above.
Oh no, Splock is mistaken! The caramel is definitely there. He must have been too focussed on the cookie dough goodness! I too think it would be better without the caramel, but yes, I think a repeat tasting may be in order for myself.
That cookie dough one looks awesome.
I’m hoping and praying we get them over in the UK soon!
